1 year ago I'm guessing it's realistically something like 0.00-100.00 or something but gotta figure out how to now make people pick 1.49 or something stupid when their grinder doesn't support that.
Many grinders have a certain level of retention (mine has 8g 😬). The previous grind setting has an impact on the current shot being pulled. Also, if the last time you ground coffee dates to a long time ago, you could have old grounds in your shot. I don’t know how you could deal with this in the app, but something that takes this into account could be nice.
Also, there are a lot of different grinders with a lot of different grain settings. For example, mine has an infinite precision gear and it’s easy for me to divide it into eight big steps, each having 16 small steps. Having more customizability for the grind settings, could be very cool.
The way I thought of going about it for my infinite gear is as follows: my gear is already labelled from 1-8. I can’t count how many teeth are in between each number (8 teeth per number in my case) and also half that (1=teeth, 0.5=in between two teeth).

"Templates" can become a place for multiple types of templates, not just shot templates
