@leecommamichael I'm not seeing the first part with the big title and details about the place

some ui adjustments:

can we get rid of the rounded corners of the side panel? (this should not apply to desktop)
i see the background of the side panel is the purple color. ideally i'd like it so that just the top part is purple and letters below is the tan color.

Do I have the right default state? Or should it be that missing one with the big title and the user can make it smaller if they want?

@leecommamichael on desktop the user can't make the side panel smaller.

left hand is what they see before they scroll, righthand is after (but that purple bar is behind the search bar for the lefthand side too).
