Dropouts during track changes #53

Which plugin is the bug/enhancement related to ?
Dynamic Playlist and Custom Scan and Transition Updated

What version of SlimServer/SqueezeCeneter are you using? On what operating
system?
I am running SqueezeCenter 7.01 - 18946 on WinXP with a recent dual core
AMD processor and 2 GB of RAM. When this problem happens, buffer is 100%.
Although the repro is not 100%, it is quite reliable, including the effect
of the workaround of changing the TU crossfade seconds to something other
than 10 seconds. I never noticed this problem on Slimserver 6.5, but the
crossfade default used to be 5 seconds.
Could you describe the problem or enhancment ?

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
When I use a playlist generated from the "Random for custom tag" template,
there is a dropout of a second or two about 80% of the time near the
beginning of each track in the playlist. This correlates exactly with an
additional track being automatically added to the end of the playlist.

I am also running the Transition Updater. When I changed it from its
default crossfade of 10 seconds to 5 seconds, the dropout problem went away.

Do you still have this problem with the latest Dynamic Playlist release or was
it
completely solved with the 2.0.beta11 version ?

No, the problem no longer occurs since crossfading was integrated into
Squeezecenter.
