I vote against this. Let's get over the use of colors in chat. It's so 1996. : )

:+1: IRC is also 1996, but we still use it. not implementing a feature because of 0,1% of users being abusers is just stupid

and abusers will switch to another client anyway if this wont get implemented here, so no incomes from not implementing this

Fair. The developer can disable colors on their end easily enough should they want to force sensible design standards on the user. Which I believe we as developers should be doing more often. : )

It should at least hide escape sequences I think.

And personnaly I find colors/bold very usefull for notification bots, which I use a lot. Maybe it could be an opt-in option?
