wanted - foss, os-agnostic converter for bryton navigators #4

i am desperately looking for a foss, os-agnostic way to create bryton compatible tours independently from the bryton registering process and app usecase - or as an alternative, for a converter of .gpx files to the bryton format (.tinfo?), respectively.

without these generated dependencies and the opportunity of an easy filetransfer over usb, everyone would finally be able to use bryton devices as intended, as navigators, not just recorders.

Same here! I wish the drag and drop into the ExtraFiles folder would allow turn-by-turn navigation. The only (very clumsy) workaround I found so far is to follow the steps below. You basically upload your route as an activity and then convert it into a route.

Hope this helps, and I desperately hope that someone else has a better solution!

hi loesoe,

thanks for your input. that was quick ;)

unfortunately, without a mobilephone, the bryton app, win/mac os-centric software only, being forced to register over at bryton and using an online converter, your device degrades to a high priced recorder only.

privacy-affine users following the f.o.s.s. & k.i.s.s. principles not meeting all of these artificially generated dependencies are locked out with a strict, closed workflow like this.

hopefully in the near future there will be a free, os-agnostic offline method to easily convert the gpx files from openrouteservice.

This definitely doesn't follow FOSS or KISS principles. I'll join you in hoping for a good method soon!
