4 years ago Same here! I wish the drag and drop into the ExtraFiles folder would allow turn-by-turn navigation. The only (very clumsy) workaround I found so far is to follow the steps below. You basically upload your route as an activity and then convert it into a route.
- Upload a .gpx file to www.routeyou.com (or create a route using their system)
- Download that route in .gpx format but make sure you download the Bryton version. This is still a .gpx format that cannot be uploaded directly to the device.
- In the Bryton active website https://active.brytonsport.com use the + sign to upload the .gpx file. It will be read as an activity, not as a route (and therefore also uploaded to any 3rd party apps like strava).
- In the phone app, go to activities > select the activity > create route and save as a new route. The new route (with turn-by-turn nav) will appear in 'My Route' under courses. (You can delete the Activity after this)
- Sync the routes of the phone app to your device. For me this doesn't work via bluetooth, only via WLAN sync.
Hope this helps, and I desperately hope that someone else has a better solution!

i am desperately looking for a foss, os-agnostic way to create bryton compatible tours independently from the bryton registering process and app usecase - or as an alternative, for a converter of .gpx files to the bryton format (.tinfo?), respectively.
without these generated dependencies and the opportunity of an easy filetransfer over usb, everyone would finally be able to use bryton devices as intended, as navigators, not just recorders.
