Please, check the FAQ to know if your device is supported:
http://code.google.com/p/touchegg/wiki/FAQ
Probably your device is not supported and for this reason nothing happens when
your perform gestures. The app is not freeze, only nothing is printed in the
terminal.

Hi,thank you for the answer; in that link there is not enough information to
assure if my device is supported or not, but according to the manufacturer
specifications of my laptop (
http://support.gateway.com/s/notebook/2010/gateway/nv/nv55C/NV55Csp2.shtml )
the touchpad has multitouch capabilities.
Besides that I am using a modificated version of Ubuntu 11.04, in this version
on the mouse options you can select scroll with two fingers (I dont know if
default Ubuntu 11.04 can do that too) and selecting that option I am hable to
scroll with two fingers, so at least my touchpad supports two fingers gestures.
And yes you are right, actually the app does not freeze it just seems like for
some reason can not read the .conf file and did not throws any error, just for
the record I checked the folder permissions and everything looks fine to me.

Hi!
Yes, your PC has a touchpad, but, it looks like in Linux is not supported (in
Windows are supported), check this page:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/HardwareSupport

Hi, Jose, yes is the same link that it's on the previous link, like I said in
the previous comment my touchpad is multitouch, and it is supported by Linux
and Windows, right now I am able to scroll down/up and horizontally with two
fingers by a mouse configuration that my Ubuntu comes with, so the problem is
not that linux don't support my touchpad, I think the problem is in touchegg,
or may be another program is "interfering" I don't know, I guess i will have to
wait to another release

They are a different between scroll support (that is integrated in X11) and
uTouch support, that is the multitouch stack used by Ubuntu. Your device can be
supported to make some basic gestures but not with uTouch.
The list of supported hardware by uTouch don't include your device (Gateway EZ
Pad® multi-gesture touchpad). Anyway, are you using Unity?? Remember that
Unity makes use of gestures with 3 and 4 fingers:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/
If you are using Unity and your device is supported by uTouch, this actions
will be performed.
