I was unable to get touchegg to run over Ubuntu 12.10 32bit on Elementary
Desktop session.
I just upgraded from 11.10. It may be related to the upgrade but it doesn`t
seem so.

console:
USER@MACHINE:~$ touchegg
Reading config from  "/home/USER/.config/touchegg/touchegg.conf"

Did Touchégg work in your previous OS version? Is your trackpad in the
supported hardware list?

Touchegg did work on Ubuntu 11.10 32bit, running Cinnamon. On the Apple Magic
Trackpad.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 32bit, also running Cinnamon. Tried the default
touchegg.conf and the custom one I was using before.
On command line it does register the input:
[+] Unknown gesture:
    Name ->  "n/a"
    Number of fingers->  3
[+] Unknown gesture:
    Name ->  "n/a"
    Number of fingers->  4
[+] Unknown gesture:
    Name ->  "n/a"
    Number of fingers->  4
I will check configurations everywhere to see if I missed anything.

Did you compile the new source code?
