Hello, I've been using this plugin for a while and you got it right: it adds a source for nvim-cmp completion. You have to enable it in contexts that you want. You may take a look at my configuration.
If you used an install script, possibly, your Lazy failed to build a plugin because of timeout error. It would be better to build/launch your own tabby.Sadly, currently the plugin does not allow you to select a path for executable.
I think the best way to use it is to build/download/deploy your own tabby and specify the address and api token if needed (for newer versions)
I have installed this plugin through Lazy.nvim, but can't seem to find out what it does. Does it provide integration with nvim-cmp so that tabby suggestions can be viewed in their menu, or something else? And can I uninstall tabby (from the official site) once I have this plugin or does it require the server to run?
