Week 1 - Get to know the community

Week 2 - Get Familiar with Machine Learning for Chemistry

[x] Select a model from the list suggested in GitBook
[x] Download and serve the model via the Ersilia Model Hub to ensure it works
[x] Open a repository on your GitHub user with all the necessary files
[ ] Select and clean a dataset of 1000 molecules (example notebook 1)
[ ] Run predictions for the molecules on the selected model and evaluate the results

Week 3 - Validate a Model in the Wild

[ ] Find a suitable dataset with sufficient experimental results
[ ] Clean and standardize the dataset
[ ] Run predictions and calculate metrics.

Week 4 - Prepare your final application

[ ] Submit the final application in the Outreachy website

MOTIVATION STATEMENT Hello, I'm Srushti Hirve from Pune, India. Currently, I'm in my sophomore year, pursuing B.Tech in Computer Engineering from MKSSS Cummins College of Engineering (CCOEW).Growing up amidst a diverse culture, I have learned to appreciate the beauty of our planet by accepting differences among tribes or race and so on.

Around two years ago I set out on a mission to solve malnutrition problem amongst children. Witnessing the staggering statistics, with the global hunger count soaring to 828 million in 2021, I was driven to take action. With an idea to detect malnourished cases using OpenCV in Python and provide required assistance, I initiated working on this project. However, despite my efforts, it stalled.

While searching for potential projects on Outreachy recently, I came across Ersilia. Ersilia’s objectives were closely aligned to what drove me before. It is exciting that I can be part of Ersilia’s initiatives and contribute meaningfully.

So far, my experience with Ersilia has been beyond expectations. The guidance and manuals are user-friendly and I’m ready to team up joyously for collaborative tasks ahead.

I eager look forward to joining Ersilia journey where technology is used for good change- making and community uplifting
