Summary:

• Nesting block level elements will break footnotes and abbreviations
• Nesting inline elements is ok
• Nesting single line breaks is ok
• Nesting full empty lines will trigger malfunction on footnotes and abbreviations
• Description list itself will render correctly, only footnotes and abbreviations are affected
• This behavior is replicable on Parsedown website https://parsedown.org/extra/
