Fix semantic release workflow #285

Our semantic release workflow fails. See here. This needs to be fixed, otherwise we cannot publish to PyPi anymore.

Never mind. Now the workflow does not fail anymore but it will not create and publish any new version...

Fixed in PR #293, but there is more work to be done. This is referenced in issue #294.
