Paste lists of text as tasks into datagrid #16

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

This is a feature request.

The ability to copy and paste task lists (each task separated by a newline)
into the datagrid without having to type in or copy one by one each task.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 1.4 on
Mac and PC

That good be a nice feature. I presume the idea is to be able to use another
tool to
manage the task list and this would facilitate sync between the two?

Suggestion:
We add an 'Import tasks' or 'Enter multiple tasks' button or menu option. This
opens a
multi-line text edit field in which you can paste any text you want. Tasks will
be
separated by new lines as suggested.

The idea stems from wanting to put tasks in pomodairo from our bug tracking
tool.
Getting a textual list is pretty straight forward.

I think "Enter multiple tasks" would be the track to follow. To keep inline
with the
streamlined GUI, I also thought about a multiply icon for a button right next
to the
New Task. (ex: the browser back button which has a down arrow next to it which
lists
a bunch of pages to go back to in firefox).

The reason I too would enjoy this is because when you click add new it is extra
mouse clicking and it doesn't add them in the order I create them. I am not
sure how it is choosing the order in version 1.9. I know you can reorder them
but I am having trouble getting the hang of that because it seems like just
under the place you want works 70% of the time. I have tried dragging and
dropping items right on the text, below the text with varying results. I have
no doubt it is a user error but importing a list from tab, or comma separated
text for the items and the number of pomodoro's numbers would be quicker. Love
the app!

It sorts by estimated Pomodoro's by default even though there isn't an arrow
there until you click the column heading. If there were a way to sort by ID or
if there were a column heading that had ID number that would be helpful and
hopefully not be too difficult to implement. Everyday I am constantly
reordering the things I just typed. I'm a big fan of the app, I wish it much
success!
