Search options type:dataset or all versions or replica

There are some search options I used in CoG, which I cannot find in Metagrid (might be only a matter of making them more prominent):

• The default search results in CoG are datasets. How would a user search for datasets instead of files?
• How do I search for 'all versions' to see also retracted datasets with only metadata left?
• How do I search on specific data nodes (including replica)?

Hi Martina, the "design philosophy" for Metagrid gave a preference toward a tidy, compact interface at the expense that all options might not be immediately apparent. The search options are hidden (along with the version-by-date search from the other issue). Probably the first step is to make this all clear in our FAQ. That all said, we are open to making adjustments as needed.

Thanks Sasha, the second question is around the default search changed from 'dataset' to 'file'. The versions are documented on 'dataset', so I would vote to keep the default 'dataset'.

Hi @MartinaSt On that second question, perhaps you can point out what's confusing and gives the impression that the search is for files rather than datasets. I must be missing some key detail. Perhaps annotate a screenshot?
