added example for scala and reorganized files to better match a typical project structure #82

python files were simply moved, the only changes was to fix package references to work with the new python file locations

It's unclear who the primary owners / reviewers of this repo are, so I've tagged you all. I see outstanding PR's from like two years ago, so I'm wondering if this repo is essentially dead / nobody actually checks contributions anymore, but I thought I'd reach out to see if one of you is comfortable reviewing and approving this.

I'm already actively using it successfully in my own application
