As suggested in slack by the awesome @digitaldogsbody, we should give https://github.com/chrislusf/seaweedfs a look and see how well it compares/works re: min.io. The reason for having alternatives for the same piece of stack are: sustainability of the architecture and roadmap Alignment. Re the later: this one is fully OSS and has less of a "roadmap" leading to selling its own backend storage.
