An outstanding item identified by @theurich (January 17, 2024) towards allowing C-based NUOPC components:

BOP/EOP of NUOPC.h and section in the NUOPC Ref Doc for C API.

Gerhard’s feeling is to pull this into the NUOPC reference manual.
