added some basic markdown formatting & spell checked #131

First of all I just wanted to say great project, I'm really looking forward to digging into it for some things I'm working on.

Just wanted to pitch in a little, so I reformatted your readme to Markdown, which displays a bit more cleanly on GitHub, while maintaining readability in text. You can read the rendered version here.
