Not a solution, but a workaround that's working for me is this one: https://github.com/esphome/firmware/issues/227#issuecomment-2220077005
Not a solution, but a workaround that's working for me
Thx, but also with Firmware-Update 2024.7.1 it isn't possible to update M5.
same here. symptoms are a very very long compile, very high cpu/mem usage - HA hangs during compile- and failing upgrade. During trial and error HA even restarted as a certain point. Upgrade to 2024.7.1 same behaviour. Rolled back to 2024.6.6 and everything works well. After rollback rebuilding the ATOM with 2024.6.6 leads to HA crash and reboot. reproduced 3 times now :)
Just chiming in to say I'm encountering the same issue on three Echoes trying to update 2024.6.6 to 2024.7.2
Problem is solved!
I've erased Atom Echo M5 completely and than I've installed voice-assistant-firmware again and every thing is fine. Atom Echo M5 is now working with the latest firmware.
The problem
After ESPHome-Update I started the update of my M5-Echo. OTA-Update over WLAN fails due to not enough space on the device. The error message suggested to Update over USB. But Update over USB failed.
Same issue occurred some weeks ago by Updating athom presence sensors. With a workaround it was possible to increase space for OTA-Update, but by M5 is at the moment no solution to fix this problem.
