Consider provided recommended language to indicate which reporting formats were used across data file submitted as part of an ESS-DIVE dataset. Currently, a good practice is to mention which reporting formats have been used in a dataset somewhere in the dataset metadata abstract.
For example: “Included are *.csv files [that adhered to the CSV reporting format] as well as a data dictionary (dd.csv) and file-level metadata. (flmd.csv)”
However, it may be worth identifying a way that users can indicate that they follow reporting formats in a separate new section of dataset metadata, similar to how users pick which variables they use from a drop down / checklist style menu.
