What steps will reproduce the problem?
No Commercials are being marked when recording

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Eypect marked commercials - nothing marked. When run manually after recording
everything works

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I tried ETVComskip-2.0.2-10.6 with EyeTV 3.3.3 as well as EyeTV 3.4.2 under OSX
10.6.2

Please provide any additional information below.
The logs also say: No video pid found return from "comskip": 3

The comskip.log say:
Opening 000000001257f0d8.mpg
Comskip 0.80.031, made using:
mpeg2dec-0.4.0 - by Michel Lespinasse <walken@zoy.org> and Aaron Holtzman
Permission denied - could not open file 000000001257f0d8.mpg

When I try /usr/bin/nice -n 2 /Library/Application\
Support/ETVComskip/MarkCommercials.app/Contents/MacOS/MarkCommercials 307753176
--verbose=10 --force --log

where 307753176 is a recordingID of a recording already taking place I get the
same error in the logs as I get onscreen by the verbose messages

When I stop the recording and try again everything works fine.

So I tried to copy the Recordingname.eyetvsched package or the mpg-file within
with the same effect: I cant - the systems tells me I dont have enough access
rights. After stopping the recording I can copy without problem!

Maybe an access problem caused by EyeTV?

Hope this helps. If you need some more info just tell me how

thanks

I am seeing the same exact problem under ETV-Comskip-2.0-10.5 using EyeTV
3.4.3. Comskip wont run against a recording in progress. Once the recording
stops, I can run it just fine

Maybe the problem relates to EyeTV-Archives on network drives or in other
places than the users documents folder.

EtvComskip didnt work for me when the archive was on my OSX Server (AFP-Share)
as described above

Now I changed this to the default location in the users documents folder and
EtvComskip seems to be working also when currently recording.

Maybe anybody can check this?

I guess its some access restrictions etv sets when putting recordings on
network shares.

Same situation. Library is on a remote afp volume and is not being seen/opened
by comskip.
