I was able to install on Yosemite OS X 10.10 by using Script Editor to open the
InstallETVcomskip script and save. I needed to download and install Xquartz
for X11, and also needed to give permission to run the com skip application.
The EyeTV application is now working as expected (except for Activity Monitor
reporting the ComSkipper is not responding).

That message is coming from GateKeeper. You can get rid of by doing this:
1) Open the System Preferences app
2) Select the "Security & Privacy" panel.
3) Select the "General" tab, if it's not already selected
4) Neat the bottom of the window where it says "Allow apps downloaded from:",
select 'Anywhere'.

Once you've installed ETVComskip you can go back and return it to it's original
setting (which was probably the middle one) if you are concerned about the
security dangers of leaving it set to 'Anywhere'.
