Expand Monicelli syntax #4

Sounds like in the international context of anonymity nerd sitting in IRC on #nottor channel at irc.oftc.net (where Tor Community lounge have pleasure-time) the terms "supercazzola" has been associated with "Prisencolinensinainciusol":

naif 8:16 if i tell you 8:16 "Supercazzola" 8:16 that's an italian word 8:16 what's the first thing that come to your mind 8:16 representing the meaning of "Supercazzola" word? Stevko 8:25 naif: first thing? Prisencolinensinainciusol 8:25 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisencolinensinainciusol

This ticket is to evaluate the extraordinary inclusion of Prisencolinensinainciusol in the monicelli's syntax to improve the international adoption and understanding of such a new technology

Can I add that, to my knowledge, the concept of Jabberwocky is probably the closest to Supercazzola in English literature. It shares with Supercazzola the ludic use of neologism and non-sense words, with a similar effect on the reader even if the goal of producing it is not deception, as it often is in the case of Supercazzola.

Splendid effort by the way

fpietrosanti commented 9 years ago

mmmm i see, interesting such Jabberwocky word, also referred here: http://forums.prospero.com/discussions/Italian_Language/_/_/ab-italian/9615.1

We shall update the english wikipedia web-page regarding supercazzola

icovada commented 9 years ago

That word is a gramelot of English sounds meant to represent English words. Supercazzola roots itself deep in the pure Italian of the Florence dialect.

Besides, if you saw the movies you'd know that "Lei ha clacsonato", the beginning of the main function in Monicelli, is the sentence that provokes the first ever supercazzola. (edit) The purity with which this language has been laid out must not be dirtied by senseless words outside the Amici Miei universe (edit)

This is why I vote against adding prisenwhatever to Monicelli

dzsessona commented 9 years ago

I don't know in English but I laughed for the last two hours as if it was Antani, by two, with a twist on the right.

filippomortari commented 9 years ago

Ditto. I have to agree with @icovada here. The language as it has been thought looks concise, self explanatory and self contained all within the Amici Miei universe and scope. :-)

Expanding on this, something that can be done on this would be to add constants by using the following syntax: voglio antani, Necchi come se fosse 4 con rinforzino translating into const int antani = 4;. An alternative may be to use ma con rinforzino, but this is open for discussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjQbP9ImIm8 should provide enough references in case this has gone unnoticed compared to the rest of the supercazzole just like antani.

agatti commented 9 years ago

Actually, using e rinforzino prevents possible mis-parsings in function declarations since con is used there as well...

esseks commented 9 years ago

@agatti, mcc lexer adopts a longest-match policy, so con rinforzino has higher priority than con. For instance, this snippet:

blinda la supercazzola antani con barilotto Necchi con rinforzino o scherziamo?
    vaffanzum!

will be correctly parsed. The only issue is a stylistical one. What sounds best, con barilotto Necchi con rinforzino or con barilotto Necchi e rinforzino?

I pushed f8e27f3b in branch const a few moments ago.

agatti commented 9 years ago

The latter "flows" much better to trained ears, but on the other hand having as much repetition and as much alliteration as possible would maximize the antani effect.

Anyway, if I have to cast a vote, it's for e rinforzino.

mikyt commented 9 years ago

I love the idea of "rinforzino" for the const keyword!

Regarding adding new words, in general, I'd rather stick to the original "Amici miei" universe. Mostly using supercazzole, and as a secondary option other parts of the movies. There's so much in there: no need to add external contributions. They wouldn't really fit.

LupoX1 commented 4 years ago

I would suggest using word length % 10 in place of numbers, i.e.: voglio antani, Necchi come fosse turro in diciannove con rinforzino translates in const int antani = 520;

marcoxa commented 1 year ago

Zingari!

May I suggest to add the word 'mica' as 'not'? That way you could write something like

vaffanzum mica zero!
