After solving a puzzle (or two), a modal window could pop up congratulating players and prompting them to provide their email if they want us to follow up with them and provide more info about Eterna.
Motivation
Visitors at the CalDay booth were very interested in Eterna, and visibly enjoyed the game. However, the only follow-up we had available to convert visitors into active users was a flyer with a QR code. This requires visitors to seek out Eterna on their own later on. It would be better if we could capture user information at the time of interest, right after they play the game, and then prompt them later with a link to Eterna to continue playing.
Proposed Solution
After completing a puzzle (one specifically designed for these outreach events), generate a modal popup (with confetti, animations, etc) that asks congratulates the player, then asks for their email to get more details about Eterna. Wording will have to be carefully considered, as we want to make it clear they are not registering yet, just registering interest in the game. The collected emails need to be stored locally (because of potential festival limitations on network connectivity) and then sent back to Eterna servers after the event. The collected emails can be sent a follow up email explaining more about Eterna and providing an easy link to keep playing, register, etc. We also discussed connecting registrations through this method to a badge ("Visited Eterna @ CalDay!") or bonus points.
