Well as long as the cost is reasonable, I'm fine with it. I would think a small continuous price would be good.
It would also be nice if the hacker could click the beach a bit for you. Maybe something like, once per NP (upgradeable) click the beach 50 times.
Potential this could also be used to phase out some early game mechanics and speed things up a little? For example, almost anything cost infinite castles lategame, this is hardly interesting anymore. Of course we already got the aleph upgrades to deal with that, but this one would potential go future.,
Nifty concept!
Just make sure that if you can cheat on logicats (and upgrade that to how many times) it initially only affects single puzzle solves. For multi-puzzle solves, the player should need to wait a bit instead of trivializing it so quickly.
This is a fantastic idea. I'm sort of working on an outline of game progress from a new player to molpying down with the bag of holding, trying to figure out what's needed for progress, whether or not it can be idled, etc. Redundakitties were always a sticking point since they are required for progress and can't be idled.
This is a rather large idea for 2 small issues, but it could potentially be built upon more and offer some fun and quirky stuff.
A new icon shows up in upper right of the NP. It looks like a generic envelope/email icon. Clicking on it opens up some text instead of the picture. The first one would be something along the lines of:
The hacker would work somewhat like Rosetta, unlocking other boosts if you pay him off after conditions are met.
The first thing he would offer is a kitty clicker. At first it would automaticallly click only 1 kitty per NP, but it could be upgraded to a maximum of 10. Unlock conditions for it would be either reaching a certain NP, or reaching an earlier NP with below a certain number of kitty clicks. So you'd unlock him earlier if it seems it would be of more help to you.
The next issue he would cover is logicat puzzles. It would be similar with some kind of minimal idle mechanic, but also possibly a larger number of "cheats" you could use in the form of manually clicking the cheat button he adds to open puzzles.
It would be a meta mechanic basically, and could also offer some humor occasionally. For example, when you buy firewall, he might send an email mocking it.
So, yeah, that's my idea. Let me know what you guys think.
