A year ago, a team put together the concept of a degradable book on Ethereum (link). It could be cool to extend this to NFTs in a more general way. In short, you can imagine an ERC721 token that over time (or at each N transfers) slowly morphs and loses bytes of information, converging towards 0x0. This would mimic real-world objects that degrade over time.
This is an idea I just had and wanted to post up here. Specifics would still need to be figured out.
