OIP-30 Create an additionnal attractive area separated with movable walls for 2 to 3 desks #30

In order to make the large empty space on the northern side of the office more attractive, create a new separated area with movable walls (in order to be able to quickly remove it when the open space is needed, for events i.e.) for 2 to 3 desks, as to be seen in red on this layout plan:

We could use:

OR

Input on the movable walls style would be greatly appreciated

Maybe something organic / plants or bamboo could also be nice here: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/bambus-bambusrohre-als-sichtschutz-ca-200-x-160-cm-raumteiler/1952456586-87-3352

Rollable whiteboards could also be nice and dual-use - more whiteboards are good anyway and they could have a second use as a room divider.

Comment on the different options:

"block walls": https://shop.movisi.com/de/regale-und-raumteiler/LINK-Raumteiler.html => easy and funny to set up, good looking, many arrangements possible, but not completely closed (with wholes), nor sound absorbing

I think this is not a good option because it will be hard to keep clean (dust will settle everywhere on the individual pieces)

sound absorbing office dividers

I think these are a good option. There are different heights available, some are ~180 high and some ~120ish. I guess the lower ones have the advantage that it's not dark inside the separated space but the disadvantage that sound/noise will travel a bit more.

Rollable whiteboards could also be nice and dual-use - more whiteboards are good anyway and they could have a second use as a room divider.

i also like the movable whiteboards idea. or movable pinboards. :) one could also combine 1-2 movable whiteboards with 1-2 of the acoustic room dividers on the one side and on the other side

I proposed the modular blocks. I checked a lot of options because ultimately, I'm supposed to be the one who sits in this area. I don't want to sit in a box consisting of gray panels or 8 whiteboards.

Also, I think the sound absorption is not going to work very well. It is way more effective to just get a carpet.

If somebody keeps them clean I don't mind the modular blocks, just saying they will get dusty etc. :) Also agree that getting a carpet (or using the one from upstairs in the sofa area, I want to get a new one for that area ;)) and installing the sound absorbing panels on walls and ceiling should help a bit!

Just saw that the modules can fit regular plant containers, that could actually look cute (to have 2-3 plants in there).

None of these solutions solve the sound problem. Proper walls have to be built.
