DRAFT rules i propose

  1. no personal attacks/threats
  2. keep it on topic.
  3. request that substantive ideas/comments be directed to github

For 1. I'd add:

  1. The discussion should not be about people.

Otherwise we'll keep having those "what have you done before?" arguments (where even if the target has done stuff, the topic is changed to an irrelevant topic).

I would suggest placing social code like this into a repo called "policies".

Each policy can be an MD file, this one might be "telegram.md" or "online-chat-discussions.md". Perhaps additional ones could be Code of Conduct, privacy policy, disclosure of confidential information policy, etc.

In the Magicians' Integrity Ring I am helping with the Community Code of Conduct, and have proposed a general framework enabling teams to adopt policies, and a key piece is each team maintaining a policies repo.

Let me know if I can help maintain this part.

I would like to propose that Chatham House Rules be encouraged for certain working groups. Certain information relating to issues being researched may be confidential.

I am not sure if this should apply to the main channel, or if posts unintentionally or intentionally revealing confidential information should be deleted.
