This is huge. We need to explore this idea a ton. If you want to be an Etherean citizen, you have to pay your taxes. Otherwise you are always free to fork off and build your own libertarian, tax-free paradise.

i think that one problem with this analogy is that by definition, we're all somewhat jaded by the nation-state. And the other example of citizenship in the 21st century is that of a nation-state. Perhaps we could choose something with a little bit more of a positive connotation (like a local community member, or a co-op)

Is this really a dare that we want to make? Are we comfortable with causing a contentous hard fork?

hire songadayman to write a song roughly entitled "if you dont want to pay your devs, dont use their work"
