[GR] Representation of Baseline Protocol at ETHVietnam Event :: Nov 25-27 #90

Details on Grant Work

Samrat will travel to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the ETHVIetnam event, which is one of the largest events in this region. More details of the event can be found here: https://www.eth-vietnam.com/.

Planned activities: A presentation on Baseline Protocol (in line with the BASE-ics presentation done at AmsterBased 2022). A ZK workshop online before the event as a lead up to the main event.

Motivation and Overview

I am motivated to represent Baseline Protocol at this event as an outreach initiative and attract participants in the community. I believe the event will be attended by business community and developer community alike.

Value to the Baseline Protocol

Vietnam is an upcoming hub of Web3 talent because of good quality education and Ethereum Foundation's efforts in mobilizing the developers in the APAC region; I have been informed by the event organizers that the hackers who have enrolled in the event are top quality. The event is led by Saison Capital which runs an incubator and has access to a good talent pool.

Downsides / Execution Risks / Limitations

I do not see any downsides to this participation. I see that there is a risk that I may not be able to travel in case of bad health or a surge in COVID cases at the venue of the event. I will cancel my bookings in that case. Baseline funds are protected as I will not claim reimbursements.

Deliverables / Schedule / Milestones

The event is scheduled for 25-27th November 2022, and I plan to be there during the entire duration. I will only take the payout after I have made the trip.

Budget and Justification

I seek $300 as a grant. The total budget for this trip shall be $700-$800, including visa, air travel, hotel stay, food, and local conveyance.

Applicant Background

I am presently the Chair of the TSC and contributing actively to various outreach initiatives, including AmsterBased 2022. I also run the Baseline Show every week.
