User Story

As an end user, I want an EF Grants Website, so I can see the grants that have been awarded.

Why

The EF Grants Team is looking for a website to serve as a portal for grantees to keep the community up to date on progress made as well as provide information to those interested in learning more about the types of work that merit funding.

What

Webpage which will live at grants.ethereum.org and contain the following:

Public Views (v1)

Grants detail (v1)

Grantee Views (v2)

Potential Grantee Pages (v2)

See also

Bounty Details

A note for Gitcoin applicants. This bounty is for a fully-spec'ed design of v1 of the Ethereum Grants wesbite. There will be a separate ticket for coding the website, AND a seperate ticket for the v2 designs

This is an approval-required bounty. Please post your portfolio so we know you have design chops.

Acceptance Criteria

OKDuncan commented 6 years ago

Kevin, this is really great, thanks for filling out the details. Adding a little more context for how the site should serve the users / grantees.

As an normal user, I want an EF Grants Website to,

  1. See the grants that have been awarded, and the progress they have made (may include news stream...)
  2. Understand what the EF Grant Program is motivated by (history, purpose...)
  3. Know what the EF is looking to fund (dev wishlist, links to research / project ideas...)
  4. FAQ's, Process, Guidelines...

As a grantee, I want an EF Grants Website to,

  1. Provide a way to easily update and showcase our team, project motivation, and progress
  2. Find links to assist in grantee support when questions arise (FAQ for reapplying, next steps, etc... may tie into 4. above)

Workers have applied to start work.

These users each claimed they can complete the work by 1 month, 2 weeks ago. Please review their action plans below:

1) pavan-krishna-v has applied to start work _(Funders only: approve worker | reject worker)_.

Hi, Let me give a plan for design as this ticket is meant only for that.

I want to use open source java and its related technologies to accomplish this task. The user design contains specs on checking if the user is a grantee and what details has to be shown if he is one. I can provide a detailed design document on how i will go about with this task.

I am assuming the grants list will be provided and want to know in which format will it be provided so that i can load/fetch grantees details accordingly. More design questions can be discussed on progression.

Thanks, Pavan. 2) daleterrell has applied to start work _(Funders only: approve worker | reject worker)_.

I will begin by building the website, then implementing js to meet the user's expectations 3) oovg has applied to start work _(Funders only: approve worker | reject worker)_.

UX/UI Execution plan:

  1. Run a heuristic analysis on grant websites currently in the space
  2. Apply findings from the heuristic analysis into UX iteration one
  3. Submit UX findings, full site wireframes, and clickable prototype for review/discussion
  4. Upon approval of UX and prototype, move to first iteration UI Design via divergent design methodology
  5. Submit divergent UI for review/discussion
  6. Merge accepted divergent UI work into master UI iteration one
  7. Submit UI iteration one for review/discussion
  8. Apply discussion notes (iterate, revise and enhance) until UI fully approved.
  9. Bask in completion of a wonderfully considered and beautiful Design system for EF Grants.

@pavan-krishna-v this is a design task, not a coding task.

@vs77bb see applications above!

pmaojo commented 6 years ago

@vs77bb you can check my recent work on https://pulpomarketing.com/trabajos, and my profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/pmaojo/ Regards

owocki commented 6 years ago

ok, @vs77bb funded the bounty so he is going to approve the applications!

oovg commented 6 years ago

My plan there should number 1-9 (not 5-14 hah). Looks like the formatting picked up the <ol> numbering of previous entries.

vs77bb commented 6 years ago

Hi all, I'm planning on letting applications flow in for the next day or so. Please be on the lookout - I'll make a decision sometime this weekend!

@oovg Thanks for sharing your portfolio + that's weird, we'll pick up that issue on our side. 🙂

@vs77bb want to choose a contributor today?

vs77bb commented 6 years ago

@pawelpietryka You've been approved! @OKDuncan and I are excited to work with you here.

I see this project as an introduction to the EF team and don't need to charge my usual rate but am I right in understanding that $500 is being offered to deliver designs for this website?

This is correct. The scope for this is simply designs. There will be a follow-on bounty for the build out of the website, which will come with additional funding. Please let us know if you have any questions along the way!

vs77bb commented 6 years ago

@oovg Our Design lead at Gitcoin would love to connect with you as well for other bounties! Please do join Gitcoin Slack and introduce yourself if you haven't already, we'd be happy to see you there.

@pawelpietryka i am removing you from this bounty. please don't claim work on the gitcoin platform again if you're just going to go MIA.

@vs77bb can we select someone new to work on this?

oovg commented 6 years ago

@owocki @vs77bb I'd be more than stoked to take this bounty over and destroy. ;)

vs77bb commented 6 years ago

Hey all, I talked to @OKDuncan and he mentioned he is still working with @pawelpietryka on this bounty - they had taken the communication off Github which is why we didn't see the response.

Sorry for the confusion, will keep everyone posted if there is need for more help here 🙂
