try this: Open cmd.exe Navigate to geth directory by running cd %APPDATA%\Mist\binaries\geth and look for geth.exe Execute the following command: geth.exe --fast --cache 1024 (--cache 4096 (if you have 4 MB Ram free)
In my case i have had to do this : cd unpacked (enter) after this i see geth.exe
Thank you for the response, I have tried this. People online say it only takes a few hours, but mine has been running for about 35 hours straight and its only at like 2.5 million out of 3.8 million or whatever. And then it crashed. From my understanding --fast does not allow you to restart and I really don't want to go through that again.
It only take a few hours when you have a fast ssd disk. I have a regular disk :-( --slow also dont allow you to restart, in my understanding :-) I tryed, and i have to start at 0 :-) Now i have 72 % in the mist app, block 3959774 in cmd and i m only waiting for the error massage :-) cause i forget to notice it last time. Its drive me cracy !
and the best thing of this, it will be happen after 99 % :-)
There is no mist folder made in %appdata% as it says in the documentation.
