Ethereum OS X wallet hung

Node type: `eth/geth`
Number of blocks synchronized: Can't tell Ethereum Wallet says 162 blocks left (1436 MDT). LOG shows

Ethereum wallet has hung and is not showing my ETH.

WalletUI console shows:

there is no Node.logX file

Let me know if you need anything else. Not really sure about the relationship between Ethereum  (OS X) and Mist other than one seems to be a GUI for the other...

I will attempt to quit and restart I think this has worked in the past.

Couldn't get it to even get that far after it hung. it Either didn't connect at all or connected and hung. Restarting Mac to see if can get around the problem...

I tried downgrading to v0.8.10 but it now seems to have the same problem:

I don't see any backup of .../geth/chaindata in the backups that I have taken using the wallet...

I wonder what would happen if I deleted 1923259.ldb from my chaindata/ folder? It seems to be recovering/reconstructing these files and although it looks like they are sequentially named (transactions?) as we get farther down the list there are gaps in the file numbers. Another approach would be to just delete every file from that one on and see if it recovers properly... Anyone care to comment...

So following the discussion in: https://github.com/ethereum/mist/issues/1650 I have renamed by chaindata file and am in the process of a complete resynch with v0.8.10....

That didn't work never completed got hung on a particular block. So renamed chaindata folder, again, downloaded v0.9.0 and retried it. It also never completes but doesn't seem to get hung just slows down and never completes. I Launch the application during this process and it still says 308 blocks left which never seems to complete and the cloud icon shows 50%? as does the progress icon?

It still doesn't show my current value.

Also Ethereum wallet is now consuming about 30.2 GB of space on my hard drive... Used to be much less I think.

But what really bothers me is not showing my current value in my ETH wallet and never completing the process of synching and seemingly being close to the end but the cloud icon indicating 50%... ??
