Update to geth 1.8.23 for constantinopel #4192

Why is there no option to override the clientBinaries which makes you dependent on someone updating it?

Yes.. how do I upgrade geth in this darned thing.

It's a bit hidden deep down in the folder structure. On a Windows system: C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum Wallet\binaries\geth\unpacked\geth.exe

Actual versions can be picked e.g. from: https://geth.ethereum.org/downloads/

Simply download and overwrite the existing geth.exe.

As far as I got it Mist/wallet v0.11.1 still refuses to work with the new version. However it is possible to call geth with some start parameters to update your blockchain. DOS prompt and: geth.exe /? to get help.

I tried that but that won't work AFAIK. Mist has a sanity check on startup it checks the geth version with an online clientBinaries.json file and if the geth version isn't the same as the installed version it fails

What do people use for a wallet these days then if the official wallet is not even updated.

Bei mir kommt immer die Meldung das ich meinen Softwareknoten in der Version Get 1.8.23 manuel installieren soll. danach stürzt mein wallet ab. İch habe dieses Problem nun schon ewig finde aber die geth version 1.8.23 nicht . Bitte. Das aktuelle habe ich alles schon installiert das Problem wird dadurch nicht behoben . daher HILFE.

warum wird mein text übersetzt ? OK I try that in englısh: My system gives me a error. iı says i should install the version 1.8.23 in the softwarenode mauelly. after this error my wallet goes down. need reallz help
