5 years ago @pipermerriam merging since it's a (somewhat) minor pr - but mostly because i've already continued with py-ethpm integration off this branch. If you get the chance for a posthumous pr review, that'd be great and i'll rebase any needed changes

Needed mypy for type checking
How was it fixed?
Added mypy to tox lint env and added types throughout repo
