1 year ago It looks as though you have some version of web3.py installed from a git branch. Can you try using one of the stable releases of the library instead? You shouldn't run into the same issue. But feel free to ask to re-open if you are still having trouble.
D'oh... of course you installed from the branch, it wasn't released yet! Looks like this wasn't added to the distribution and we just released and ran into this issue. We'll get a patch out but I wanted to come back and say thanks for reporting 👍🏼
