#EthereumClassic seems to confirm support at $18 on the 8h time frame and it may lead to a bull-ish trend for the next few weeks 🚀

As contribution was made anonymously, thank you to for however created it.

I am aware this is not on the main eth_classic account, which has less stringent rules and are evolving, and AFAIK it is the first instance of a submission of this nature on either account. As such, @ethereumclassic/tweeters, before we merge this, please could we discuss if this kind of tweet should be allowed on this account, and let's take the opportunity to create a rule to help guide us in future similar submissions?

Currently neither set of rules is says anything explicit about allowing/denying this kind of submission, but there are some relevant points that we should consider:

From the eth_classic rules:

Interesting technical analysis of network attributes such as hashrate, throughput, price movement.

This rule is somewhat in favor of this kind of tweet. My previous interpretation of this rule was that it was for relevant historical events like sudden 20% movements, but this is not explicit and perhaps should be.

Accuracy: No linking to overly opinionated, biased or unverifiable information

This one is the sticking point for me, as this submission mentions "may lead to a bull-ish trend for the next few weeks". Granted, the language used is not certain (it does not say there will be a bull trend, but there "may"), but the prediction is unverifiable at this point in time.

As for the this repo's ETC_Network rules, which inherits the above rules, it only add an additional:

more leniency with regards to seriousness and promotion of other projects

Personally, I don't see a problem with TA itself, but I think we need to be very careful about price predictions, as they can backfire if they are incorrect, or be misinterpreted as advice, which could lead to legal and ethical questions.

I think we should be open to this kind of tweet, including those that discuss price movement (particularly if a recent spike in price has occurred), but due to the nature of it being potentially interpreted as a financial advice, we should be strict about price-related language used for submissions for both accounts.

Specifically, I would suggest making the following rules more explicit:

As far as the TA itself goes, in terms of talking about recent (not major) price movement, I don't see why this should be disallowed on the ETC_Network account, as long as includes interesting analysis and it is only discussing existing trends, rather than extrapolating into potential future movement.

Anyway, these are just my initial thoughts. I would like to hear other maintainer's opinions.

I think it would be better to;

a. Have no price references in any community account.

or

b. If there are price references, for them to be limited, and to clearly say that it is the opinion of whoever posted it. If it is anonymous it's fine, but not fine if it gives the impression that the community or whoever manages this account (people don't know if there is someone or not) is giving the advice.

Maybe we could create a solution to this with a price specific account different from ETC_network and eth_classic? 'ETC_price' or something like that. Where it focuses on Community based TA of ETC? We would need an account, if there is appetite for that. I think i have an ETC stock to flow account that i wanted to setup at some point. That could be an option for a handle. Mimics the Bitcoin Stock to Flow account, but also open for broad ETC price speculation

As this tweet is stale and the content discussion has lagged, I am closing this PR. Discussion should continue as either an Issue or a new Discussions topic.
