Update dev dependencies to fix npm audit alerts #246

This PR updates some dev dependencies to fix the current npm audit alerts ("10 vulnerabilities (2 low, 6 moderate, 2 high)").

Majority of issues arose from the contributor package, which I removed now since the code is very much outdated and the functionality is not used.
