Dear ETH Zürich,

we at TU Wien love your plugin for freehand drawing in Moodle. Keep up the great work and a BIG thank you! :) Our teachers have reported to us some possible improvements from their practical experiences during exams. It would be great if trainers have ...

  1. possibility to define the default selected color for students (currently it is black for all instances)
  2. possibility to define the default selected color for manual grading of teachers (e.g. red for correction)
  3. possibility to define the default size of the brush
  4. possibility to disable specific colors for students
  5. improve the visibility of the eraser (currently it is quite hidden under the pointer icon - also selection and clicking on the trash icon is not so clear when using it)

Did you have any similar feedback to ours? How do you see the chance to implement these ideas?

Thank you and all the best.

Hi @gergelyrakoczi Thanks for the voice of confidence.

  1. the features requested are very possible, however, due to internal protocols, they need to be discussed with the stakeholders, so I'll forward the feature request to @abonaccorso in order to be internally discussed, and shall they decide to proceed forward, you will get a notification here and also some info about the timeline.
  2. Meanwhile, could you please share a screenshot (viewport or device specs info is much appreciated!) of the attempt page showing the trashcan + eraser so we can figure out how much expansion is needed?

Thanks again!

Thank you for your superfast answer and for passing on the ideas to Antonia. :) If you have questions or need more details (user stories) etc. just write me.

In terms of the trash can maybe my quick mockup helps. drawing_improvement In my idea, the trash can is always visible in the left menu for the student and once activated a student clicks on the drawing part, immediately deletes the selection. The undo/redo is working perfectly fine in your plugin, so if you accidentally delete the wrong part, you can undo your action. In our exam rooms, we use Wacom One 13 tablets where the current deletion process (one the one hand) is difficult to find and (on the second hand) a lot of clicking has to be done.

Thank you and cheers, Gergely
