update homepage carousel to be mobile-friendly #9

we should be able to take advantage of the new version of bootstrap (https://github.com/twitter/bootstrap/pull/6342), which is "mobile-first"

right now the site doesn't look so hot on my iphone, not sure about tablets/android

yeah that's a good idea, we should definitely update.
