EU rules validity #59

According to https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/QANDA_21_2781 , "The Regulation will apply for 12 months as from 1 July 2021."

Shouldn't the ValidTo field on its rules reflect that?

We could add a validation on the ValidTo field for this, but I don't think that makes much sense at this time. The EU Regulation might just as well be extended to beyond July 1st 2022. Do you see a specific reason/scenario to actively restrict the ValidTo field?

Sure, every rule can change in the future: the list of accepted vaccines, the number of days to wait after the last shot, the number of shots, etc..

But this repository is meant to document the current rules (and then, obviously, update them if they change), right?

Currently, the rule all over EU is that no certificate is valid beyond 1 July 2022: as the other rules that one can also be changed in the future (even if it is a more complex change, since it is not up to the member states), but, for now, that is the rule - and the reason why I opened this issue.

For reference, by 31 March 2022, the Commission shall submit a report to the European Parliament and to the Council on the application of this Regulation. The report may be accompanied by legislative proposals, in particular to extend the period of application of this Regulation, taking into account the evolution of the epidemiological situation with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.

@marado To be certain: this repository has 0 official status. It's primarily meant as a development tool, with the possibility to use it as a staging area for uploading rules to the DCC Gateway. There's no direct, nor official integration with the DCC Gateway. Ideally, the rules here match those on the Gateway (at least after uploading) but there's nothing in place to ensure that.
