please boop on splat-S #335

follow up to issue 334: from the user's point of view, you accepted my 
cropping, but then threw it away on program exit.   

If it is NORMAL to ignore the splat-S and let the user think they have 
accomplished something, whilst secretly planning to throw it all away at the 
end of the session, then please kindly boop on the splat-S. 

(By 'boop', I mean, "Play the sound that means alert")

Yes, if I had used the menus, I would have seen that it was grayed out and 
would have had a clue that it does nothing.  But I wasn't, so I didn't, so the 
nothingness was a something of a surprise.

Unfortunately, standard OS X behavior is to not make a sound when trying to 
activate disabled menu entries. There is nothing the program can do about this, 
as it is never informed about it.
