display a warning for ancient browsers
write down what is supposed to be supported
list of things to test? Eg png fallbacks, search, media queries

The minimum supported version of IE should be 8. Looking at google analytics we've had no IE7 users since October. We might get away with increasing this to 9 soon; there are not many IE8 users.
