Argo user's manual version 3.41.1 preparation #9

The current version of Argo user's manual is 3.41 available from http://dx.doi.org/10.13155/29825 The next version 3.42 is prepared on a shared work in progress document open for comments

There are 9 updates (7 on trajectory format, 2 on reference tables)

Without further comment, the version 3.42 is ready for publication, by mid-July 2022.

Proposed: The FileChecker modifications for traj-v3.2 will use the User's Manual version 3.42 specification. No earlier specifications will be accommodated.

@tcarval, thanks for releasing a new version of the Argo Users Manual. I think the 3rd bullet point in the list of updates (§2.3.2 N_CALIB_JULD variable added) should be deleted, because it is a duplication of the 1st bullet point.

In §3.2.1, please delete the notes at the end of Reference Table 2. Those are notes that I keep up-to-date in the QC Manual. It's best if we do not duplicate them here. I've made that edit suggestion in the google doc. You can refer users to the QC Manual if you think it's necessary.

The minor version of "Argo user's manual" 3.41.1 was published on July 5th 2022. It is available on https://dx.doi.org/10.13155/29825

This is a minor version as it does not impact the existing Argo NetCDF files. There are 9 updates:

Trajectories §2.3.2 N_CALIB_JULD dimension added §2.3.2 N_CALIB replaced with N_CALIB_PARAM §2.3.5 AXES_ERROR_ELLIPSE_MAJOR and AXES_ERROR_ELLIPSE_MINOR long names updated (semi-major and semi-minor ellipses) see https://github.com/euroargodev/ArgoNetCDF/issues/3 §2.3.5 _MED and _STD removed from the manual, see https://github.com/euroargodev/ArgoNetCDF/issues/4 §2.3.7 N_CALIB replaced with N_CALIB_PARAM §2.3.8 JULD calibration chapter added

Reference tables §3.2 Reference Table 2a: cleanup of comments §3.2 Notes on QC removed from the manual, these notes are maintained in the QC manuals. §3.31 reference table 31 added: ENDING_CAUSE and ENDING_CAUSE_CATEGORY
