mobility: on-the-fly aggregations #2400

would it be possible to offer to the users to perform on-the-fly different temporal aggregations of the NO2 data in the mobility domain?

This would bring much added value to the "custom layer" approach, e.g. a user aggregates the NO2 for a given month of interest and uses it via custom layers in the other domain tools.

The regridded S5P tropomi data is very small, so technically this might be feasible..

Aggregation levels would typically be monthly, weekly or even seasonal..

Hello Patrick, this functionality is being worked on in the chart eoxelement to make it available to all possible applications using it. The integration is planned for the next version of eodash intended to be developed starting next year.

The idea is also to improve the logic of fetching the data, which would better selection of time of interest and other possible features, like showing min/max pointers when aggregating data and changing plot type from lines to columns. Once the functionality is available there we can look into integrating it also for the GTIF instance, but this will be most probably by the start of next year.

We would recommend postponing this feature to when it is available in the updated eodash client as it would include multiple other functions and features.
