To avoid possible merge conflicts in the future, I propose to bring the latest polar developments (4th dashboard config and limited link rel=wmts handling) to staging.
polar branch will still remain as the "deployment" branch for the polardashboard.org
According to GitHub, this again brings a lot of commits that should already be part of staging. The list of file changes is actually quite small.
