Currently, all symbols are colored the same.
Follow the same approach as for nutsdorlingcartogram and other multivariate maps to show another stat variable as the symbol color.
This could be addressed as an enrichment of the existing "ps" map type, rather than a new one.
Example of such map:
Show a quantity (as size) and its variation (as color value).
