Ticket refunds #74

Closed vvatikiotis closed 11 years ago

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

Need a refund policy on the site. The bank requires this as a term for using the virtual POS.

Eventora has nothing to do with this as we are processing the credit cards!

Let's do this fast!

@nolamesa encoding problem in your post

nolamesa commented 11 years ago

In Railsberry it is: Event organizer's refund policy: refunds not allowed Also in La conf: Tickets are transferable, but not refundable: you can give or sell them to someone else, but we will not issue refunds. After all its only 60 euros, not a big deal

apantsiop commented 11 years ago

Refund only upon conference cancellation. IMHO

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

Shall we go with @nolamesa proposal? 60 euros only and clock is ticking and we follow prior ruby confs' policies

nolamesa commented 11 years ago

Guys better safe than sorry. Everyone has a no refund policy. If we end up with a cancellation and we still have the money we'll give a full refund. Otherwise give as much as possible. Lets not promise things like these

This is what I am saying. Full refund only if the conference is cancelled. Otherwise, no refund.

apantsiop commented 11 years ago

You cannot do a partial refund if the conf is cancelled. It is lame.

nolamesa commented 11 years ago

No it is not if we have to pay with our money. Even if we have an insurance it might take a year to get the money back (maybe never). We have enough risks already lets please minimize it. Every conference I looked has a no refund policy (+ scottish ruby conf and rupy)

apantsiop commented 11 years ago

OK. If this is what the research shows.

nolamesa commented 11 years ago

Ok then, but where on the site shall this be? It should be in the eventora page actually

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

It's already on eventora page, but it should be on our site as well since we are the merchants (remember, we have our own virtual POS and the money goes in our account). @fotos is on this.

plz review and comment

nolamesa commented 11 years ago

It seems fine to me except for Paypal which should be removed for now

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

It's terms and conditions. Nothing in here oblige us to use Paypal. I'll rephrase.

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

"A PayPal account or a valid credit card". This doesn't bind us in any way. "or" makes the difference here.

nolamesa commented 11 years ago

FYI important notice about Paypal: http://conferencesburnedbypaypal.tumblr.com/

Don't be alarmed. virtual POS is just around the corner.

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

@fotos ready https://docs.google.com/a/euruko2013.org/document/d/15tJQ7IWDMAaHOeQ52p3h0uimaO7nzkeeGpEu7KQxTgM/edit#

when you are

vvatikiotis commented 11 years ago

A PayPal account or a valid credit card, which you have the right to use, is needed to register and buy a ticket. Euruko2013 reserves the right to change the payment method at any time, without prior announcement.
