I cannot reproduce on Windows 8.1 with Chrome 37.0.2062.3. From the default options, I checked the first checkbox ("Left-click opens bookmark in new tab") and then tried other combinations. Can you please give me details about your system so I can help?

Are you left clicking from the URL line (using the * tab option), or from the bookmark treeview? When I first starting using this addon I assumed that this feature was referencing the url line, but it doesn't work from there, only from the treeview.
