8 years ago Well it does go away if you are an authenticated user (confirmed by e-mail or admin) who has logged in.
It doesn't go away if you're not logged in; and I guess, or recall, it does go away eventually if you log in with a non-authenticated account and then complete the captcha enough times.
The CAPTCHA description has the default text, but this could be change to explain that the CAPTCHA here won't go away, because there are no logs kept that would know that visitors from that IP have been there previously, so the server has no memory of you not being a robot.
