We should support services like Slack out of the box, but also we may want to integrate with some popular open-source chats, e.g. @RocketChat (see https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat), etc
We need to create a list of such chat services to be integrated. There are also plenty of SaaS solutions to be integrated with extensions/plugins/SDKs, such as https://sendbird.com, https://www.cometchat.com, https://www.jivochat.com, etc.
